Your primary responsibility will be to uphold the highest standards of maintenance across the highway network, aligning closely with the strategies and policies of the County Council and Essex Highways. **The Role**

***
- **Pothole repair and carriageway defect reinstatements.**:

- **Carriageway and footway patching and construction.**:

- **Drainage works, including laying pipes, resetting ironwork and gully / access chamber construction.**:

- **Kerbing works.**:

- **Installation of road signs and other small civil works.**

**Job Description***

**About You**

***
- **A current, valid driving licence is essential, with LGV Class 2 entitlement highly desirable.**:

- **New Roads and Streetworks or NHSS 12 training and qualifications would be highly beneficial.**:

- **Experience in the use of handheld technology (PDAs, Smartphones, etc) would be advantageous but not essential. Local knowledge of the county would be beneficial**:

- **Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers both internally and externally. Experience of working in the public eye or other customer-facing roles would be advantageous.**:

- **Knowledge of highways maintenance.**
