Support the monitoring and tracking of Medical Appraisal & Revalidation within the Health Board initially and escalate to the Revalidation Manager when appropriate.

In collaboration with the Revalidation Manager and Deputy Revalidation Manager, support appropriate systems for the management of reports in respect of Medical Appraisal & Revalidation.

Support the Revalidation Manager and Deputy Revalidation Manager on a day-to-day basis, and administer the University Health Board’s system and processes to support Medical Appraisal & Revalidation. This will include the creation and provision of support information to end users such as, training documentation, supporting information etc.

Facilitate the recruitment and training of clinical staff to support both the Medical Appraisal & Revalidation.

Support the Revalidation Manager and Deputy Revalidation Manager in establishing partnership working with key stakeholders (in particular the Medical Director; Deputy Responsible Officer, Assistant Medical Directors, Appraisal Leads, Directorate Managers, Clinical Directors, Clinical Leads and associated Workforce and OD colleagues). Be responsible for specific areas of working in line with project plans, as agreed with the Revalidation Manager and Deputy Revalidation Manager.

Provide efficient administrative support, to create a personal portfolio for each non-training grade doctor in line with standards as dictated by the GMC (General Medical Council) with regard to Appraisal and Revalidation.

The post demands utmost confidentiality and the ability to deal with a variety of stakeholder queries both internal and external to the Health Board. This is a unique position dealing with sensitive and confidential information on a regular basis that will be provided at appraisal meetings, the post holder will be able to exercise judgement involving facts/situations which may need some analysis.

The post holder will work in collaboration with key stakeholders to implement and monitor effective appraisal processes for the non-training grades and improve engagement in the appraisal process. Organise and deliver training sessions to doctors as required.

This could be group sessions or on a one-to-one basis.The post holder will need excellent Microsoft Office skills with the need for accuracy when producing reports and documents for the Revalidation Manager and other stakeholders. There will be significant variations in the workload, which will be assessed within their personal reviews/audits. Undertake local and national projects related to appraisal and revalidation as required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
