**About the Role**

We are looking to recruit a leader for a new SME business support contract we have secured in West Yorkshire. The Productivity Improvement Programme will provide cutting edge support to help SMEs in West Yorkshire to make improvements, become more productive and grow.

The role will be responsible for:

- The overall programme including planning, activity, performance, people, financial performance and operational continuous improvement
- Leading and managing a team of Productivity Managers who will be working directly with, supporting and facilitating improvements with the programme clients
- Working closely with funders and the wider stakeholder network to promote the programme, the value that is being delivered and the Exemplas business.
- Managing the relationship (and their performance) with a key partner in the delivery of the programme
- Providing direct support in the development of deliverable new value propositions that will enhance the Exemplas brand and status in West Yorkshire and wider geographical areas

**About You**

We are looking to recruit a person with significant SME business experience. This may have been gained through working with, supporting and growing SMEs from working in business support programmes previously or having run your own SME business. You will be familiar with the challenges SME businesses are faced with and will be able to empathise. In addition, you will have:

- Demonstrable experience of both operational delivery and commercial development in public sector business support.
- Knowledge of the Yorkshire SME business base and the business support infrastructure.
- Existing relationships, networks and connections in the West Yorkshire area.
- Experience of managing and developing people.
- Experience of managing performance.
- Experience of developing new business capable of being scaled and replicated.
- Knowledge and experience of productivity, growth/scale up and how improvements can be made in SMEs
- Experience of and working knowledge of HR processes for managing people and teams;
- People management skills, in particular motivating and encouraging others, coaching and mentoring, adaptable communication style, managing conflict, giving feedback, etc);
**What we Offer**

This is a full-time permanent contract. The role is peripatetic and requires travel around the West Yorkshire area working with clients and managing the relationship with the funder and other stakeholders.
- A generous and competitive salary of up to £61,500 per annum
- A car allowance of £3,840 per annum
