**Subject Leader - Becoming a key worker**

We have an exciting opportunity for a **Subject Leader - Warehouse & Logistics, which is part of our Becoming a key worker** **pathway **to join our team. This position is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours a week based in Middleton, Greater Manchester.

**The Role**

The purpose of the role is to provide effective leadership and management and thereby building and maintaining an effective teaching team which continually enhances the quality of learning and achievement. This is a fast-paced environment perfect for proactive and innovative characters.

Your duties will include but will not be limited to:
**General Management which includes**:

- Inspire department members by personal example and hard work.
- Play a major role in the middle management assisting the Delivery Manager in creating a vision, sense of purpose and pride about the department and its work. Including creating and implementing its policies.
- To carry out rigorous self-evaluation and oversee the curriculum area’s development plan, its implementation.
- Coordinate the production and maintenance of the curriculum handbook and implement, monitor and evaluate all of its policies and documentation.
- Be responsible for continuously improving the quality of teaching and learning in The Job Gym.
- Be responsible for maintaining discipline in the department including supporting staff where appropriate.
- Develop and maintain effective methods of communication with the Delivery Manager, SMT, other staff, learners, external agencies and wider

**_Subject Specific Duties_**
- Consult, produce and regularly review the Department documentation which should state the agreed procedures, practices, and aspirations of the Department. To focus on:

- Aims and Objectives.
- Assessment, Recrding & Reporting.
- Learner Inclusin (SEN, Gifted & Talented, learners with English as a second language, Gender, Multicultural, Differentiation, etc.)
- Citizenship.
- The range f appropriate learning styles.
- The use f ICT.
- Health and Safety.
- Manage the department's contribution to the Business Prospectus, and website.
- Oversee the running of relevant wider-curricular activities.
- Liaise with awarding bodies and monitor learner achievement.

**Job requirements**

Essential Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications
- Teaching qualification
- English L2
- Maths L2
- Teaching experience - Essential

Desirable but not essential Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications
- Assessor and IQA qualification
- Leadership experience
- Knowledge and experience of a range employability and vocational programmes
- Ability to create and develop learning programmes and qualifications
- Experience of standardisation meetings and staff development
- Experience of working with awarding bodies
- Training / coaching experience
- Experience of creating and analysing key data
