**An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Formulation Chemist, to join our client, a leading global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil & Simple based at their Materials Innovation Factory in Liverpool (L7) with some travel to PortSunlight, Wirral.**

**This is a full-time temporary role for 6 months, with possibility of extension, working a 37.5-hour week, to start ASAP.**

**This role is paying between £26,000 and £29,951 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.**

The role reports to the Biosourcing Platform Leader in the Biotechnology and Biosourcing group, which is part of Home Care Science & Technology. Our client have recently announced their Home Care Clean Future strategy which details our highly ambitious sustainabilityand environmental ambition for 2030.

The Biotechnology & Biosourcing team contribute directly to two of the Clean Future pillars:
- Removal of all virgin petrochemicals from our Home Care products and
- Conversion of our products to 100% biodegradable ingredients.
The successful individual will directly contribute to our surfactants and polymers replacement programmes.

- Prepare mixtures of ingredients and model home care formulations
- Conduct physical property measurements (e.g. rheology, surface tension, critical micelle concentration)
- Conduct performance evaluation including miniaturised, automated and medium scale cleaning experiments

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & DELIVERABLES**:

- Carry out experiments and data analysis according to an agreed work plan
- Complete safety risk assessments for experiments (e.g. CoSHH)
- Record experiments in an electronic lab notebook
- Present results to project teams
- Contribute to scientific reports as required
- Work closely with other scientists within a multidisciplinary team, contributing ideas for technology evaluation

**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS**:
**Essential**:

- Practical laboratory experience which may be through a BSc or MSc research project
- Confident and clear written and verbal communication.
- IT literate, with the aptitude to work with complex equipment and electronic systems for information capture as well as MSOffice suite.
