**Overview**

Invigilators play a vital role on test days. They are responsible for ensuring that tests are delivered following all regulations and procedures, making sure that the test room is fully compliant with regulations, they must meet and maintain the standards of the test venue and ensure fairness of test administration for the test takers. Invigilators must ensure test day security is in place at all times.
OET test days are run on Saturday on a twice monthly basis. Hours for invigilation are 07:00 to 12:15.

**Duties**
Invigilators need to be competent in:

- checking IDs, detecting impostors and preventing fraud
- conducting the listening, reading and writing subtests in accordance with OET regulations and procedures.
- initiating emergency procedures in the venue (when required)
- using sound equipment.
- Setting up their test room in accordance with regulations.
- Completing relevant paperwork fully by set times given.
- Dealing with unforeseen issues as they arise.
- Maintaining test day security.

**Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
- Must be CEFR C1 level or above
- IT proficiency
- Attention to detail
- responsible, conscientious, dependable, flexible, organised, reliable and punctual
- ready to respond to guidance and advice given in the context of training, during monitoring or informally
- committed to CBLA’s quality assurance processes
- able to work to deadlines and in accordance with CBLA documentation
- Problem solver
- Strong communication skills
- Able to both manage responsibilities independently and work with the test day team
- Ability to deal with unforeseen circumstances in a professional manner without compromising the integrity or security of the test.

**Required Physical Ability**:

- Climbing stairs
- Arranging tables and chairs
- Carrying boxes of papers

**Confidentiality**
- Maintain confidentiality and security in all aspects of CBLA work.

**Conflict of Interest**
All test day staff must meet the following requirements:

- Staff must have a competent level of English in order to understand the instructions in this booklet, policies and forms. It is recommended that all test day staff have a minimum of CEFR C1 level of English.
- Staff must attend the relevant CBLA training session provided one week prior to each administration before they are able to start their role at the Test Venue. (BSC will run a compulsory annual training session which will be paid. You will be required to complete a refresher training session every 6 months which is unpaid).
