**Principle Accountabilities for assistant accountant role in Milton Keynes**
- Assist in resolving internal and external queries from the client
- Access client files and data sources to collate/prepare information for management reporting.
- Compilation of complex Bank and Credit card reconciliations, review of assistant's work on non-complex reconciliations and resulting journals/postings
- Lead on AP & AR processing into ERP system, training assistants as necessary.
- Prepare complex month end journals (payroll, accruals, distribution fees etc)
- Review assistants' journals and post into ERP system
- Assist in the preparation of monthly client management information
- Preparation of VAT return information and analysis, help pull together return for review by AI, VAT team and client
- Responsible for the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Assist in the compilation of Audit pack, with liaison for the groups/entity's auditors
- Assist in the compilation for PSA, form 42 and P11D/P11Db work
- Work in accordance with defined systems and processes
- Be able to manage own workflow and delegate appropriate tasks, bearing in mind the restrictions in place on reporting deadlines
- Liaise with clients in a professional manner and deal quickly and effectively with client queries within agreed service levels
- Support outsourcing assistant managers/managers in an effective manner, as and when needed
- Assist in training and development of assistants in team
- Reviewing and challenging the efficiency of data flows and where applicable suggest improvements to ensure high service level
- Ensuring adherence to relevant client policies regarding approval and payment of such invoices
- Build strong relationships with peers at the client, and act as a bridge between their client peers and the OTS delivery teams where required
- Set an example to the team in terms of client service and personal behaviour
- Be proactive in respect of personal career development and seek training and development opportunities.

- Meticulous, thorough and accurate in all aspects of work
- Proactive with good analytical skills - ability to find solutions and explain them clearly
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Good organisation skills, ability to work to tight deadlines and flexible with working hours over month end, utilising annualised hours scheme to ensure work life balance
- ERP experience required (NetSuite, Workday, SAP)
- Focused on providing excellent client service
