Group Financial Controller

**Group Financial Controller | Private Equity Backed business | Highly acquisitive**
Reporting to the CFO you will be responsible for all day-to-day financial activity in this highly acquisitive Private Equity (PE) backed business.
You will be a driven individual with ambitions to be Finance Director in a relatively short space of time.
Your role will evolve rapidly; in the early days you will need to be quite operational in your approach, putting in place rigour and best practice, but as you build the function and the business grows you must be able to morph into a more strategic individualwhilst still retaining overall responsibility for the day to day.
Key responsibilities:
Statutory accounts
- Oversee the collation of data for statutory accounts.
- Preparation of Group accounts under IFRS.
- Oversight of subsidiary financial statements to ensure consistency.
- Review new accounting standards and ensure compliance.
- Liaise with the Group's auditors & tax advisors to provide the necessary information.
- Manage year end audit.
Group consolidation
- Oversee the monthly management pack submissions and ensure deadlines are met.
- Consolidation of monthly financial information.
- Analyse submissions, question unusual or unexplained variances and prepare commentary on results.
- Review the monthly board pack for accuracy and consistency.
- Work with financial and non-financial colleagues to improve understanding of the results.
- Provide assistance with acquisitions / acquisition integration.
Annual budget and forecasting process
- Review P&L and balance sheet budgets.
- Understand budgeting implications on the Group and be able to explain key movements.
Process improvement
- Further development of group-wide policies and processes.
- Help with the integration of new acquisitions.
Leadership
- Leading, developing and managing a small finance team in London and an off-shore transactional accounting team.
Your profile:
- Academically strong, you will be a technically strong Financial Controller, I anticipate that you will have qualified in Practice (ACA / ACCA) and have 8+ years of PQE.
- You will have a strong controls and reporting skill set, this will have ideally been attained in a large / mid-cap, or PE environment, where you can demonstrate exposure to financial best practice.
- Implementation of best-in-class systems and processes should be evident in your experience.
- You must be a strong leader and to build teams and be able to communicate concisely and effectively with your peers.
Hybrid working model - you will be expect to spend three days per week in their Central London office.
