In support of Shell’s strategic ambition, a global Policy & Advocacy (P&A) team within Corporate Relations is responsible for setting policy positions; supporting country teams in positioning these in a local context as well as issues which require global or cross-country communications and advocacy.

**Where you fit in**

Reporting to the Head of Climate & Carbon Policy & Advocacy, this role brings knowledge and policy and advocacy capability specifically on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and related topics.

**What’s the role?**

We’ll entrust you with the following:

- Policy: Conduct policy analysis and develop positions on CCS to support Shell’s business based on analysis of strategic and commercial impact and external policy environments.
- External Representation: Position Shell as a credible partner on CCS to external stakeholders through innovative advocacy approaches.
- Communications & Reputation: support the Shell CCS business, country Corporate Relations teams, corporate communications and marketing teams including through external communications. Informing business decision making by bringing-in external insights, and analysis.

Moreover, your key accountabilities are as follows:

- Deliver support to Shell’s CCS business using policy and advocacy levers to build enabling policies and external support.
- Work with Corporate Relations country teams to positively position Shell on CCS.
- Inform Shell business decision making with external insights and trends and guidance. Including participation in CCS project teams as relevant.
- Represent Shell in International and national coalitions/ industry associations and fora as appropriate.
- Deliver communications support to CCS business working with wider Corporate Relations teams and marketing.

**What we need from you**

As many of the following as possible:

- Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
- Broad knowledge of climate themes and trends. Experience in the field of climate policy/advocacy/ communications, and in particular CCS is considered an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in problem solving and analysis of complex options and ability to synthesize complex needs into achievable outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a network of external stakeholders and understanding of how to build trusted relationships externally.
- Able to translate business objectives into engagement strategies and to support execution of plans.
- Self-starter showing high degree of personal initiative.
- Experience working with external influencers including NGOs, academics, civil society, technical organisations preferred.
- Experience managing complex interfaces with internal client base (corporate communications, strategy, country teams etc.).
- Support safety as well as ethics and compliance training and culture in organisation.
