As a Family Worker, you will be an integral part of a community-based rehabilitation programme that supports individuals to develop resilience, wellbeing, and the capacity to live successful and fulfilling lives free of active addiction.

The role of a Family Worker involves assisting family members and other loved ones to access all manner of opportunities that exist within the local community to enhance their support. You will also deliver the Foundations of Family programme across the district with a team of Family Coaches.

In line with evidence and best practice, you will be responsible for delivering effective family support provision that helps to achieve a range of priority outcomes across health, social care, and broader community and wellbeing agendas.
- **What you will be doing**_
- Creatively and actively identifying/mapping local assets and instigate partnership working opportunities to provide varied options and in turn empower families to be autonomous through personal choice.
- Delivering the Foundations of Family programme.
- Identifying support pathways and services which assist families to better cope with individuals in active addiction.
- Building and maintaining active relationships with local support groups, social care agencies and businesses to continuously maintain opportunities for families to be supported and helped to cope.
- Actively supporting the involvement of families and support networks in service development and delivery.
- Maintaining excellent case records and utilise case management and data collection tools.
- Supporting the Team Leader with the recruitment, training and support of Family Coaches and volunteers

- Experience of supporting individuals to initiate and sustain their own wellbeing in the community.
- Group work experience and ability to deliver training.
- An excellent understanding of boundaries and risk.
- Understanding of specific ways to support Family Coaches who are trained to support others.
- Extensive knowledge of the recovery process for both individuals and family members and the contributing factors to making long term sustained changes in drug and/or alcohol use, criminal behaviour, and social functioning.
- Excellent communication skills.
