Overview:
We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive, experienced claims handlers to join our Tamworth location and be part of our dedicated team. Maintaining client relationships is a key part of our operation and you may on occasion be required to attend meetings predominately via video conferencing.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage portfolio of public and employers' liability claims for local government clients
- Handle claims from first notification to settlement
- Make decisions on liability, fraud, and quantum
- Oversee cases through to litigation
- Liaise with clients, brokers, suppliers, claimants, and their representatives
- Evaluate quantum by gathering relevant evidence, adjusting reserves in accordance with GB realistic reserving philosophy.
- Clearly explain decisions on liability, negotiating settlement within authority level where appropriate.
- Respond to all written and phone enquiries clearly, courteously and promptly.
- Review claims regularly using diary system to ensure accurate reserves and timely closure.
- Develop relationships with clients by providing a friendly, efficient service.
- Liaise with and control own solicitors to ensure cases not abandoned to them.
- Assist in general office administration (e.g. post, printing, order supplies, maintaining equipment) to ensure smooth running of office.

Qualifications:

- A good understanding of proactive claims handling
- A good understanding of insurance principles.
- Experience of handling public and employers’ liability claims up to a value of £25,000 without referral.
- Confident in progressing to handling claims exceeding £25,000 under authority.
- Working knowledge and experience of handling MOJ Portal Claims.
- Excellent customer service.
- Good attention to detail.
- Experience in handling larger losses and failure to remove and/or police claims would be preferable.
