**About you**

If this sounds like you, and you’re seeking a rewarding job role, we are currently recruiting for a number of Activity Support Assistants to join our Family Support staff team.

Working independently and as part of a team, you will support children, young people and adults to access a range of activities in the community, while providing essential respite for families across the region. You will need to be enthusiastic, able to use your own initiative, have a drive and resilience for what is often a demanding role; and you must be people-centred with good communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive, trusting relationships with the adults we support.

**Application Question**

1. Work with managers to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered in line with current legislation, best practice, care standards and the services policies and procedures.

2. Ensure quality standards are maintained at all times, in readiness for inspections by internal and external bodies.

3. Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and adults at all times and protect them from risk of harm.

4. Comply with the Society’s Safeguarding Policy and report any concerns to the appropriate person.

5. Assist in the delivery of high-quality activity sessions, delivered in the community, seeking positive outcomes for those attending.

6. Provide input into the evaluation of individuals’ activity plans and liaise with families and other professionals to enhance the development of the children, young people and adults you support.

7. Encourage children, young people and adults to achieve their full potential in terms of self development, domestic, recreational and leisure activities.

8. Contribute to the development of the child, young person or adult’s skills during activities within the community.

9. Supervise children, young people and adults both on and off residential premises, ensuring risk assessment and health and safety procedures are strictly adhered to. 10. Incorporate anti-discriminatory practices into all aspects of your daily duties.

11. Undertake general domestic and housekeeping duties as required, ensuring children, young people and adults’ personal belongings are kept in good condition. 12. Assist with personal care needs when required.

13. Contribute to monitoring the health and wellbeing of adults according to the Society’s policy on Positive and Proactive Support.

14. Maintain records as required by the service, including documenting the progress and achievements of the individuals you support. This includes writing daily feedback in their day books.

15. Safeguard the confidentiality of information in accordance with the Society’s policies and procedures. Revised December 2021

16. Help to implement Individual Care Plans and Individual Behaviour Plans, as directed by line manager.

17. Carry out daily activities on a rota basis, in accordance with the needs of the individuals you support.

18. Provide temporary cover, so far as is practicable, for other team members.

19. Assist with the induction, training and supervision of new, or more junior, team members.

20. Work within a team setting, being courteous, respectful and anti-discriminatory at all times.

21. Attend all mandatory training within the timescale required, including e-learning. 22. Attend appraisal meetings, team meetings and supervisions when required, as well as meetings which relate to the day-to-day running of the service.

23. Any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post.
