Job Introduction
**ROLE OF THE JOB**
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in Northumberland to support the Council's economic and regeneration programmes. We are seeking to appoint a Senior Regeneration Investment Contracting and Appraisal Officer.
As a Senior Officer you will play a leading role in supporting the development of major funded programmes across the county:
- Ensuring that taxpayers’ money is invested in projects that deliver the best value for money.
- Supporting good management of the critical relationships between programme and project development, delivery, and performance and the Accountable Body function.
- Ensuring that funding applicants receive the support and advice they need and that the appraisal processes are efficient and effective.
- Supporting the investment process by ensuring programmes and projects submitted for approval are suitably assured in line with the HM Treasury Green Book guidelines.
- Providing professional advice and guidance in relation to the assurance function, ensuring that key milestones and information are communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaising with external consultants who may be commissioned to support the assurance function to ensure the process runs smoothly and all issues (technical or administrative) are resolved early.
- You will require the ability to work with a degree of autonomy and initiative and will have experience in developing contracting and/or grant funding agreements.
We are seeking a regeneration professional who is enthusiastic and driven with experience in the development of regeneration projects from initiation through to successful completion. This will include supporting programme, project and business case development, contracting and appraisal management, procurement, legal and financial/funding compliance.

The job is based in County Hall in Morpeth, but we operate flexible working arrangements, including some home working.
**Requirements of the job**
- Experience in the development of regeneration projects from initiation through to successful completion.
- Experience in supporting programme, project and business case development, contracting and appraisal management, procurement, legal and financial/funding compliance.
- Experience in developing contracting and/or grant funding agreements.
- Ability to organise work and identify priorities to meet challenging deadlines.
