Fundraising Trustee Volunteer Unpaid
**We are looking for an arts-loving Trustee who can bring experience of fundraising to our charitable organisation. It’s an opportunity to “give something back” whilst developing your own skills and experience within a well-respected and vibrant arts charity.**
**Who are we?**
Lichfield Festival is a registered charity established in 1981, which runs an annual 11-day multi-arts festival, a literature festival, a chamber music weekend, and ad hoc fundraising events.
Arts and culture transcend all barriers and our aim is to engage, entertain, educate and inspire all corners of the community and beyond - bringing joy and colour into people’s lives.
Our Summer programme covers 60+ ticketed events alongside free, community events and an extensive Learning & Participation programme. Past performers have included Nicola Benedetti, Paul Merton, the Halle Orchestra, KT Tunstall, The Sixteen, Neil & Katya Jones, Philip Glass, Tony Hadley and Ballet Cymru.
The cathedral is our flagship, but we run events throughout the city covering all genres of music, dance, comedy, theatre, and visual arts.
**How can you help?**
We believe that the creative arts have the power to transform people’s lives, and we want to engage and inspire the next generation of artists and audiences. To achieve this, we require an effective, best-in-class fundraising strategy.
You will ideally have held a senior role within Arts fundraising, with broad experience of fundraising strategy development and implementation. Experience in three of the following is essential:
- corporate partnership
- major donor/individual giving
- trusts & grants
- legacy giving or generating revenue from other income streams
Whilst providing strategic direction to the Board, you will also be required to offer practical fundraising help and guidance to our Head of Development and small team of staff.
**What’s involved ?**
We hold 6-8 Board meetings a year in Lichfield which you would be expected to attend, however, your location is not an issue, as we run hybrid board meetings so you can connect remotely.
We would also ask that you occasionally help at ad hoc Festival events when you are not enjoying being in the audience
**How to apply**
**Job Type**: Volunteer
**Salary**: £1.00 per year
**Benefits**:
- Work from home
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Lichfield, WS13 6NE
