**Warehouse Operative**

A.S.Handover Ltd. is a long standing British brush making business located in London and Hertfordshire, with a fully remote sales and management team spread across the UK.

Established over 60 years ago, we take pride in hand making professional quality brushes at our workshops in
London and in Welwyn Garden City. We also specialise in supplies for gilders, signwriters, pinstripers, specialist decorators, artists and a wide range of other craftsmen working in stained glass, graining, marbling, stencilling, theatrical make-up, picture restoration, scenic painting, coach painting and a host of other skills.

Our wide range of products is used by the country’s finest craftsmen in museums, film studios, stately homes and the Houses of Parliament. Our loyal customers range from independent decorators through to the royal household at Buckingham Palace.

Our warehouse ships our products worldwide and we pride ourselves in our use of and research into eco-friendly packaging, excellent customer service and knowledge of shipping routes and restrictions.

Handover has recently become an employee-owned trust (EOT) company, meaning there is the possibility to be involved more closely with the running of the company, should you wish.

Position: Warehouse Operative

About the role:
We are seeking a versatile and motivated individual to fill a new role of Warehouse Operative in our brand new warehouse location in Welwyn Garden City. This position requires a combination of responsibilities involving mostly warehouse operations with some brush manufacturing support where needed. You will be working between two locations that are within 5 minutes walk of each other, and your daily duties will be dependent on what is happening each day, with the focus being on the warehouse.
We are looking for an individual who has an interest not only in the role, but in learning about our products and traditional crafts.

Hours: Full time (Monday
- Friday - working hours TBC)

Starting wage: £11.00 - £11.50 p/h depending on experience, with inflation and performance based pay increases possible

Contract: Permanent following a 3 month probationary period

Reporting to: On site Warehouse Manager & Remote General Manager

Job Requirements:

- Can pick up and adapt to new tasks and environments quickly
- Computer literate, including knowing or learning how to use hardware (scanners,etc) and relevant software programs, such as our warehouse management system Orderwise (training will be provided)
- Ideally has warehouse/fulfilment experience
- Must be able to work in Welwyn Garden City
- Responsible and reliable
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under limited supervision

Key Responsibilities:

- Receiving, inspecting, and organising incoming shipments
- Accurate and timely picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders
- Use of our inventory management system Orderwise to track stock levels
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
- Conducting regular stock checks
- Collaborating with team members to improve warehouse processes and efficiency
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as required (if certified - training can be arranged if not)
- Decanting and labelling products (training will be provided)
- Packing starter kits and brush sets
- Brush Manufacturing - occasional support in our second premises 5 minutes walk from the warehouse

(Stamping /attaching brush handles, Organising and maintaining stock, Quality control checks)
- Some keyholder responsibilities where needed - more information will be available
