**Main Purpose**

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Firefighters at the 100th Civil
Engineering Squadron, Royal Air Force Mildenhall United Kingdom.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Watch Manager for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program. They

will be responsible for oversight and direction of the day-to-day plans and programs associated with the program as well as the
operations of a watch which had two or more firefighting crews (including a Crew Chief and assigned crew) who drive and
operate firefighting vehicles of significant complexity, fight airfield and structural fires, perform crash and rescue operations, and
assist in reducing and/or eliminating potential fire hazards. As the Watch Manager, the will be expected to provide immediate
for EMS training and certification for the Fire department; direct the operation of firefighting vehicles such as pumpers, aerial
ladder trucks, and crash-rescue trucks; oversee the performance of crash-rescue and firefighting duties at airfields handling
complex aircraft (e.g. fighters, bombers, cargo, passenger). Furthermore, they will oversee the performance of structural
firefighting duties for a variety of facilities which may include research and/or large industrial complexes; hazardous materials
containment and control duties; and/or Basic Life Support duties and oversee the rescue of personnel and immediate first aid
measures to alleviate further injury and prepare the victim(s) for transport to a medical facility.

**Knowledge and Experience Required**:

- Applicants must demonstrate the following:_

1. Knowledge to drive and operate firefighting vehicles of significant complexity; of the principles of hydraulics as they pertain to water flow, water pressure, water levels, line (friction) losses, etc.; and of basic and specialized firefighting equipment (fire alarm system operation, fire extinguishing equipment operation, etc.), techniques, and procedures.
2. Knowledge of emergency first aid techniques; safety requirements as outlined in applicable safety standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; and HAZMAT emergency response procedures, equipment, and identification.
3. Knowledge of basic building design, construction, and occupancy; and of the latest changes in aircraft cockpit design, ordnance placement, and cabin layouts to include the operation of hatch or canopy release mechanisms, ejection seat mechanisms, and/or oxygen supply systems.
4. Skill in detecting and recognizing fire hazards (potential and immediate); and skill to operate communications equipment.
5. Ability to maintain good working relations; communicate orally and in writing; and lift and carry heavy loads.
6. Ability to provide supervision and leadership and integrate the actions of a crew(s) under emergency conditions.

- May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training. Position may be coded as mission essential.
- A 6-12-month probationary period will be required.
