**What’s the role all about?**
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced **Project Planner** to join our Construction team, based at our **Hinkley Site**.
With an ambitious order book ahead of us we are looking for an individual who can hit the ground running and support us by successfully managing the Project Programme through to project completion.
**Working 40 hours a week / Monday to Friday / 8.00am - 4.45pm**
As a **Project Planner **you will support the Project Team and be involved in:
- Developing and producing a fully logic linked and integrated contract baseline programme comprising off-site and on-site activities compliant with contract sum and contract/internal requirements, in ASTA and/or project required software.
- Managing and updating the project programme and its communication to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Managing and incorporating change events into the construction programme and jointly with the commercial team, secure full entitlement under the contract.
- Producing reports and programme commentary to customers on particular reporting requirements.
- Providing detailed support and assistance to the project in order to enable the team to monitor pinch-points on the critical path and test and change logic where previously agreed to either improve upon the programme or to mitigate potential delays.
- Monitoring the programme against actual progress and produce updated programs, reports and / or extract filters as required by the project team, including indication of deviation from the baseline programme.
- Formally issuing programme updates to the customer as required by the contract, keeping clear track of programme revisions as identifiable files in a secure location.
- Attending progress meetings and deliver presentation on project progress.
- Identifying, communicating and adding key programme risks to the project risk register.
- Integrating costing into project programmes for internal and external use. Internal costing should be clearly split between internal resource and sub-contract resource.
- Interrogating sub-contractor programmes.
- Incorporating internal requirements into the programme (i.e. fabricated pieces, erectable pieces, no. of lifts) to monitor tender baseline vs actual progress.
- Liaising effectively with the PM, CM, QS, EM to guarantee the programme captures all the inputs from the different areas.
- Assisting the QS and Construction Manager in the monthly meetings regarding the expected costs vs incurred costs and its correlation with actual progress.
**What are we looking for?**
- Qualified to Degree or Diploma in Project or Construction Management and holding the relevant site cards to access site in a safe manner.
- Reasonable level of experience working in a construction planning and project environment.
- Sound communication and influencing skills with experience of building relationships across an organisation.
- A solutions-orientated mindset with the ability to work accurately at pace and cope with ambiguity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyse data, draw accurate conclusions and communicate key messages succinctly.
- Strong planning and organisation skills - with an ability to appropriately re-prioritise and change as required to meet deadlines.
- Is risk aware and builds contingency into plans.
- Has the ability to multi task whilst work to a high degree of accuracy and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft office and other relevant software packages applicable to the role
- Enthusiastic team member who will positively contribute to the continued development of the team and wider business
- Meticulous record keeper who is committed to securing full contract entitlements.
- Aware of local construction laws and the regulatory environment.
