**Equans is looking for a Team Leader to join our Financial Accounting team in Newcastle upon Tyne on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, negotiable dependant on experience and benefits package.**

**General Overview**:
Opportunity to join a diverse, inclusive and dynamic team supporting the wider Equans’ business with reports, analysis and insights helping deliver the zero-carbon transition. **What will you deliver. You will be able to**:

- Manage team of assistant financial accountants and/ or apprentices.
- Ensure month end timetable and financial accounting SLAs are met.
- Review and process journals submitted to the SSC for processing.
- Manage the relationship with the business and Finance Business Partners.
- Challenge existing ways of working and to develop a continuous improvement culture.
- Deliver appropriate training & knowledge to the business to enable them to perform the duties which they are responsible for.
- Instil a customer facing culture to enable the delivery of best in class services to all stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, both within the SSC and within the wider finance community.
- Provide information on balances and processes to audit where required.

**Who are we looking for?**:

- Applicants should be qualified chartered accountants (ACCA, CIMA or ACA), we will accept applicants from newly qualified accountants, or those that have experience and are looking for a first step into a leadership role.
- You will have experience of complex business processes and tools for large data analysis and be good at managing relationships particularly with customers both externally and within the business.
- You will demonstrate the ability to coach and develop team.
- You will be able to develop and implement solutions with a view to continuous improvement within the business.
