Yard & Logistics Supervisor

The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK’s _Building Services providers. _We design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Ireland.

Alternative Heat specialises in the design, supply and installation of a wide range of Pre-Fabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Ireland. We also offer turnkey design, build & operate solutions for commercial energy centers and large-scale district heating solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public body’s throughout Ireland & UK.

We are currently looking to fill the role of Yard & Logistics Supervisor. This post will oversee and coordinate daily yard operations and monitor entrance and exit of vehicles, ensuring safety, productivity and organisation.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supervise yard personnel, including truck drivers, van drivers, visitors and forklift operators.
- Allocate resources efficiently to meet workload demands.
- Managing and controlling gate access to the facility via barrier.
- Ensure compliance with the use of pedestrian walkways around the yard.
- Directing delivery drivers to their correct area within the yard and facilitating this via a banksman.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations. Continuously monitor and implement regulation compliance and promote a secure work environment.
- Organize yard layouts for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the yard.
- Oversee the quality of products stored or handled in the yard.
- Monitor processes to prevent damage or loss.
- Address any issues promptly.
- Update and advise relevant personnel on delivery scheduling and data-scope entries.
- Communicate with other departments, suppliers, and contractors.
- Provide regular reports on yard activities and performance.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by Management.

**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- 3 years of supervisory experience in a relevant role.
- Familiarity with health & safety procedures.
- Proficient within the use of Microsoft Packages.
- Organised & Structured approach to your work.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines & cope with a varied portfolio of work.
- Good communication skills & ability to work as part of a team.
- Full UK Driving License.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Previous Supervisory/Logistical Experience
- Fork Lift License
- Previous experience on Data Scope
