**Job Title**:Fettler/Trainee Model Maker
**Reporting to**: Model Shop Team Leader
**Position Description**:
The Model Maker will work as part of a team, in a studio environment. The role requires high end finishing and post process clean-up of parts issued by internal departments and subcontractors. The role requires a detail-oriented, creative, and self-driven individual. The role demands the ability to identify and resolve problems, juggle multiple projects, and take responsibility for standards of work.
**Major Areas of Responsibilities**:
- Finishing of SLA, SLS and CNC models.
- Fettling of RIM mouldings, vacuum castings, and silicone castings.
- Fabrication and jig making.
- Use of machinery and power tools.
- Part inspection.
**Required knowledge, skills, and abilities.**
- Ability to self-manage a project and work within a team.
- Planning and prioritising multiple workloads.
- Ability and commitment to complete projects within specified deadlines.
- Problem-solving and an appreciation of tooling and casting techniques.
- Detail orientated
- Good time management.
- Happy to work extra hours to get the job done.
- Thrives when working in a high pace and often stressful environment where demands are high.
**Physical demands**
The role requires use of power and hand tools. Some components will be large and difficult to manoeuvre. There will also be an element of manual handling involved within this role.
**Work environment**
The model maker will be based within the model shop and will also work in the spray booth.
**Working hours**
The model maker will work 8:00 > 16:30 Monday > Thursday and 8:00 > 15:30 Friday. Flexibility is a must when demand requires overtime to meet a customer’s deadline.
Starting salary would be £10.50 per hour depending on experience.
**Salary**: From £21,294.00 per year
