**Locum Social Workers (x10 required)**

**Key tasks and responsibilities**:

- To undertake assessments of risk and care needs in relation to service users and carers so that, within relevant legislation, appropriate action is taken, monitored and reviewed effectively.
- To assess the risks and care needs of service users and carers in accordance with relevant legislation, taking appropriate action, monitoring, and reviewing effectively to protect them from harm.

**Main Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Continuously assess allocated cases, considering individual circumstances, including risk assessment, enabling independence, and identifying necessary care.
- Manage a caseload of varying complexity, consistent with ability and qualifications, and respond to referrals from various sources.
- Comply with statutory reviews and relevant legislation, policy, and procedures.
- Assess client needs in consultation with them and other professionals, and agree on levels of support.
- Engage with people who are at risk to self or others and decline services.
- Negotiate sensitively when assessing service users and carers in conflict or lack of insight.
- Effectively supports people in crisis by using relevant legislation and resources.
- Hold statutory responsibility for assessing carer (including young carer) needs and formulating a carer care plan.
- Create reports that support informed decisions regarding service users.
- Collaborate with providers from Social Services, Somerset Partnership, and the independent and voluntary sectors to deliver a needs-based service.
- Develop strong professional relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals to foster effective partnerships in service delivery.

**Key Requirements**:

- Recognised qualification in Social Work (Degree, PGDip or MA/MSc)
- Social Work England (SWE) Number
- Driving Licence
- Enhanced DBS
- 5-Years References
