**About the Role**

Inventya is a delivery partner for multiple projects - where we provide fully funded bespoke support to innovative businesses to help them grow and scale. One such project is working with Wigan Council to deliver a programme of support to businesses and entrepreneurs to stimulate innovation, creativity, new businesses and growth particularly in the frontier sectors of clean growth, health innovation, advanced materials, digital, creative and media.

The Business & Entrepreneur Advisor will be of exceptional high calibre and capable of being a combination of coach, mentor, critical friend, and champion. It is mandatory to have experience of supporting and advising SMEs, senior management teams and innovators at various stages of the innovation and business life cycle. You will play a crucial role in providing strategic guidance to businesses, start-ups and individuals, helping them navigate challenges, driving business growth and commercialising innovations.

**Key Requirements**
- To facilitate a holistic analysis of businesses wanting to diversify and grow through innovation, assisting with idea generation, prioritising opportunities and identify potential courses of action
- Provide expert advice and guidance to innovation led entrepreneurs and startup founders on business planning, strategy development, and overall business growth
- Act as strategic coach and mentor to support the development and implementation of long-term innovation commercialisation plans
- Specifically provide a combination of advice, coaching and mentoring covering the following areas of support:

- Business planning
- Market analysis
- New product, service and process development
- Adopting new to firm technologies or processes
- Digitalisation of businesses
- To build relationships and facilitate introductions into the local, national and international innovation and business support ecosystems
- Account manage a portfolio of businesses and entrepreneurs, and deliver bespoke support packages by working with companies one-to-one

**Skills / Experience**
- A good understanding of the Wigan business support ecosystem and demographics
- Able to express ideas clearly, both verbally, face-to-face, by telephone, and in written communications and actively listen to others logically and accurately
- Business acumen and enough experience to credibly mentor Senior Managers in development of differentiated business models
- Experience of leading workshops in developing and pivoting business models in response to changing market perceptions
- Able to help the companies establish clear, impact driven measurable goals for its innovation strategy with alignment to the overall business growth strategy
- Actively participates as a full member of a team, effectively contributing and sharing information even when it is of no direct personal interest
