The Old Tile Works Restaurant is an expanding family run business, part of The Humberbridge Garden Centre, located on the outskirts of Barton upon Humber next to the iconic Humber Bridge.

We are open seven days a week, offering dining from breakfast to lunch as well as afternoon tea, coffee and cake.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking part-time kitchen assistant to join our team in our fast-paced restaurant.

This role is all about assisting the chef, you will be expected to assist the head chef in the smooth running of the kitchen whilst maintaining the highest level of food safety and health and safety. This role is exciting, fast paced, and challenging but highly rewarding.

This role will be between 20-25 hours a week across three - four days including weekends and bank holidays. There will be an opportunity for additional hours during peak times.

**Responsibilities**:

- To assist the head chef in the day to day running of the kitchen.
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking.
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Check quality of ingredients.
- Monitor stock and inform Head Chef when there are shortages.

**Requirements**:

- At least one years’ experience in a fast-paced busy kitchen would be preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
- Previous experience handling food.
- Energetic and enthusiastic.
- Flexible approach to work.
- The ability to carry out tasks quickly and competently.
- A strong interest in food.
- The ability to follow instructions.
- The ability to use your initiative and work as part of a team.
- **Weekend and bank holiday working is required.**:

- A food hygiene certificate would be an advantage.
