AVW Fabrications Ltd has been providing metal fabrication for more than 35 years. We are located in Leicester with close links to the M1, M69 and A46. We specialise in laser cutting and sheet metal fabrication and have successfully completed thousands of large and small projects throughout the Midlands.

The Company is looking for an individual to fulfil our Laser Operator role to join our growing team who displays an enthusiastic positive attitude and can work from both set instructions and their own initiative.

**Main Job Purpose**
To run Amada Laser LCG3015 to programme machines for customer orders in order to ensure customer requirements are met in an accurate and timely manner.

**Key Role Responsibilities**
- Programming machinery ready for production.
- To maintain and manage a portfolio of CAD drawings for all standard order parts.
- Ability to follow drawings and specification accurately.
- Working with other staff members by coordinating workload.
- Loading and unloading of LGG3015 laser/deliveries.
- Ensure all cuts are clean and fit for purpose.
- To run press brake and laser combi punch if needed.
- Communicating with other staff members effectively
- Adhering to health and safety regulations.
- All other duties as required that are considered to be a reasonable employer request.

**Essential Skills**
- Identify different materials e.g. mild/stainless/aluminium
- Experience with nesting and machine programming preferable
- Be able to prioritise workload in order to meet customer needs
- The ability to read and interpret detailed drawings
- Experience of Amada laser/press/punch machines would be preferential however full training will be given
- Full driving licence preferred
- Forklift Licence preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Worked with sheet metal or in manufacturing background
- Accurate measuring ability, good numeracy skills and experience of using a tape measure and other measuring devices
- Methodical approach to work
- Accuracy with numbers
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills

**Full time**: Monday to Thursday 07:30am until 16:30pm, Friday 07:30am until 14:00pm

**Salary**: Depending on experience
