JOB DETAILS
THE ROLE
Pheasants Hill Farm Ltd is an online seller of free-range meat products in the UK and Ireland market. We are seeking to recruit a Customer services, order picking and order packing assistant responsible for correctly picking and securely packing our customers orders in our on-farm premises outside Killyleagh, County Down. Our loyal customers love our meat, but they hate mistakes in their orders so we are looking for a new team member who is very accurate and details focussed - who loves to get things right. We pack our orders in boxes of up to 15kg so you need to be a normally fit person who is able to carry customer order boxes and lift boxes of stock on and off shelves - the job is active and great for a daily workout. The job hours are 9.30am to 2.30pm daily - this is when we pack our orders which are then collected by our daily courier to send to our customers in Ireland and the UK. We hope you will join our small, friendly and relaxed team.
PAY
£11.50 Per hour for staff over 21 (£8.60 per hour 18-20 years, £6.40 per hour for 16-17 years) - great rate of pay above the National Living Wage
JOB TYPE

- Temporary contract for maternity cover from 18thJanuary to 31st October 2024
- The status of this position will be reviewed in October 2024

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
- 5 hours per day Monday to Friday
- 5 shifts per week, Monday to Friday,

- Total hours 25 hours per week.
- Work hours 9.30am to 2.30pm daily.

ABOUT US

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assembling orders accurately from a picking note
- Dealing with customers' specific customised order requests
- Packing online orders in a secure manner for courier shipping
- Picking orders from frozen storage
- Replenishing stock and putting away into frozen and refrigerated storage
- Organising and moving stock in frozen storage for consolidation and space creation
- Packing and labelling products using a vacuum packer and a labelling machine
- The role is physically active and requires manual handling
- The role will include lifting boxes of stock (up to 15kg)
THE CANDIDATE
- Will have a level of fitness capability for the regular lifting of 15kg boxes on and off shelving
- Will be friendly, polite, approachable and enjoy working as part of abe team
- Will be computer literate, efficient and accurate with data entry
- Will be comfortable using an online order system and online stock inventory system
- Will be capable of working individually, unsupervised whilst maintaining work rate
- Will be reliable, self-motivated and punctual
- Will manage their time well and be able to work efficiently whilst maintaining accuracy
- Should be open to working on a multitude of despatch tasks whilst maintaining accuracy
- Full training will be provided to the successful applicant
EXPERIENCE
- We are looking for a team member who is extremely accurate and details focussed. We are sending expensive meat orders to customers in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain, who rightly expect to receive exactly the products they have ordered. All our staff members must understand how important it is to pick and pack exactly what the customer has ordered, and to pack it in an intelligent way so that the meat order arrives in great condition.
- The job suits someone who has worked in an admin job which requires 100% accuracy e.g. book-keeping, and who prides themselves in not making mistakes.
- A safe food handling certificate would be an advantage, but full safe food handling training will be given
