**Job Description**:
Our client, a highly respected Higher Education establishment based in
**Hamilton**, require a number of
**Exam Invigilators** to cover the current exam diet between
**24th April and 2nd May **Shifts are offered between 9.00am and 1.30pm Monday to Friday.
The rate of pay will be £11.45 per hour.
**Main Purpose of the Role**:
- Under the guidance of the Registry Academic Administrator and the Senior Invigilator assigned to the exam hall, you will be responsible for the supervision of the students undertaking examinations.- Accountabilities/Responsibilities- Provide assistance to the Senior Invigilator in the organisation and supervision of examinations- Help with the distribution of examination papers and the appropriate examination ancillary material- Ensure student's personal belongs are placed at the appropriate designated area- Follow instructions regarding the running of the examination including the setting out of desks before the commencement of the examination and the supervision of the students- Observe students during the examination ensuring that the examinations are conducted in accordance with the appropriate procedures and examination regulations-
- Check the identification of students- Assist in bringing the examination papers back to Registry- Assist in ensuring that University procedures/instructions are carried out in the event of a fire alarm or first aid requirement- Report any relevant matters regarding the operation of the exam to the Senior Invigilator- Respond to enquiries from the Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee on any disciplinary offence arising during the invigilation of an examination- Ensure the confidentiality of examination matters- And / or Check examination results recorded on panel paperwork and to inform appropriate staff in Registry in order to ensure that accurate results are issued to students**Key Skills and Requirements**:
- A good general education- A professional manner with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work- Good observational skills- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing and the ability to deal with staff and students in a polite and courteous manner- Calm and efficient manner in dealing with people especially in stressful situations- Ability to follow instructions- Good interpersonal and organisational skills- Previous experience of examination invigilation advantageous- Ability to work independently and as part of a team- Ability to work using own initiative- Ability to work accurately and with attention to detail
