Junior Bioinformatician

We are currently looking for a Junior Bioinformatician to join a leading Healthcare and Diagnostics company based in the Warwickshire area. As the Junior Bioinformatician you will be responsible for supporting bioinformatic projects for high throughputgenomic sequencing using automated pipelines.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Junior Bioinformatician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Use bioinformatic or statistical methods to deliver genome sequence data from a number of different high-throughput sequencing workflows and have the knowledge and experience to develop and implement software tools.
2. Design, optimise and troubleshoot bioinformatic analyses.
3. Report on progress and workload commitments to the Senior Bioinformation, and the wider CGR Management team.
4. Liaise with and discuss analysis design and progress with the head of informatics, other members of the CGR team and collaborating groups.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
1. A PhD in biological science, computer science or statistics.
2. Experience in analysis design and method development.
3. Excellent scripting skills in R, Python or similar.
