Backshift Coachbuilder

**We are looking for a Backshift Coachbuilder to join our busy Engineering Department at one of our garages within the Lothian Group.**
**What do we do?**
Engineering plays a critical part in helping us to provide a safe and reliable bus service for our customers. Our dedicated and highly skilled team of engineers ensure our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards and are regularly checked by VOSA and other regulatory bodies. We are proud to carry out all of our own maintenance and repairs onsite at our main garages across the city.
**What will you be doing?**
- You will repair and maintenance of general bodywork parts
- You will work 37.5 hours a week on a backshift basis
- Light mechanical work including general modifications to parts
- Panel beating and repairing any damaged exterior components
- You will prepare vehicles for their annual test
- Fault Finding and rectification
- To take all responsible steps to staying informed and up to date with current legislation relating to Vehicle Inspectorate MOT standards and Categorisation of Defects.
**Who are we looking for?**
- You must be time served to a minimum level 3 SVQ standard or equivalent
- You must possess a full UK driving licence
- A PCV licence is desirable, however the ability to obtain a PCV licence whilst in our employment is essential
- Previous experience of welding, fabrication and finishing
- Previous experience on working on large vehicles
- A flexible approach to working hours
- A strong desire to help develop others within the engineering team in order to improve efficiency.
