- Family Programmes FacilitatorThe Engagement Team at RMG is driven by audiences and looks to create opportunities to foster community ownership and build repeat visits by local audiences. The programmes aim to reduce actual and perceived barriers to participation, encouraging diverse audiences to engage with the site and the collections. Working collaboratively within the team and across departments, the Engagement Team promotes a holistic and inclusive approach creating a programme of events, seasons, workshops and self-led resources. The team promotes and embeds underrepresented histories across all activities and uses creativity to support the needs of communities.

Recently, the National Maritime Museum has been awarded the Kids in Museums Best Large Family Venue award, and was shortlisted for the Best Accessible Museum award.

The purpose of this role is to facilitate the day-to-day co-ordination, delivery and evaluation of the experiences created for families at the National Maritime Museum and Queen’s House, working directly with our Families and Young People Manager.

Some key responsibilities for the Family Programmes Facilitator include; to coordinate and support the delivery of the facilitated and self-led family learning programmes at the National Maritime Museum and Queen’s House, ensuring the programme is inspired by the Museum collections, themes and sites and is aligned to temporary exhibitions and national initiatives, ensure the family programme content is accessible, representative of multiple perspectives and presents a diverse range of histories throughout the annual programme and to coordinate the evaluation and feedback of the family learning programme, and use feedback in advocating for the broadest spectrum of family needs across the Museum. Additionally, provide support the development and delivery of the family cultural festivals programme, including Out at Sea (LGBT history month), World Ocean’s Day, Lunar New Year and Diwali.

**Salary**: £22,000 per annum.

Net working hours (i.e., excluding 1 hour per day in rest breaks) will be 36 hours per week, core hours Tuesday to Saturday 9.00am to 5.00pm with an additional hour to be worked in agreement with line manager.
