Spray Shop Operative

We are a successful and expanding privately owned family company based in Ossett, West Yorkshire. We design, develop and manufacture our own bespoke equipment for the retail sector, and have a large well-established customer base throughout the UK & Ireland.

The role is to assist the Machine Shop Manager to achieve the daily/weekly targets within the paint shop, ensuring processed parts meet engineering, quality, and paint shop standards.

Duties and responsibilities to include:
Carry out all tasks required within the paint shop area with the required training and supervision (wet spraying, lacquering, spray adhesive)
- Assist in maintaining and adhere to specific H&S Standards and requirements.
- Preparing Materials to be sprayed
- Monitoring of stock
- Ensuring good housekeeping of work area
- Maintain all tools/equipment used and report faulty machinery
- Produce work to a high standard in a timely manner
- Ability to work on own initiative with or without supervision and cope under pressure.
- Flexibility to help ensure focus on daily/weekly targets are achieved
- Ensure Quality standards meet current company objectives
- Help achieve 5S in Paint Shop area
- Identify solutions to problems and opportunities for improvement
- Work with the other team members to create a cross functional and productive team
- Help ensure that the correct processes/ procedures for the area are followed

We are seeking someone who has experience within a similar role/working environment as well as the following skills and attributes:

- Ability to use own initiative to address problems and present solutions
- Professional approach
- Excellent team, interpersonal and communication skills
- Good understanding of computer systems - SAP an advantage
- Previous paint shop experience is required - minimum 1 year
