Furnace Operator

**Main Functional Responsibilities**

To maintain the smooth running of the refining furnace, duties will involve Charging furnace, Slagging off furnace, Chemical additions during refining and control room activities during casting.
- To be able to work on all parts of the refiner as and when required.
- To assist in the data recording in all aspects of cast production (some computer input will be required.)
- To work to the highest levels of Health and Safety and Environmental Standards at all times.
- To provide additional support and/or temporary replacement of appropriate production personnel.
- To carry out such other responsibilities as may be reasonably required.
- To be aware of the internal procedures for waste segregation
- To understand the requirements of the Duty of Care regulation for waste management and to understand the importance of satisfactory completing the waste transfer documentation.

In addition to matching the requirements of a cast production manufacturing environment, the Operator will be expected to demonstrate personnel competencies including a high level of:

- Communication competency
- Team commitment

**Salary**: £36,865.00 per year
