The Cardiac Physiology team at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre are seeking a reliable, conscientious, caring new member to join our professional and enthusiastic group of Cardiographers where you will be joining a friendly, supportive team in running a busy ECG service which is based in the modern purpose built Cardiothoracic Centre with clinic sessions also held in the main Basildon Hospital building.

As our Cardiographer you will carry out basic cardiac investigations on patients including 12 lead electrocardiograms and fitting of ECG or BP long term recorders, will be required to supervise trainees working towards competency in the areas of ECG practice and assisting more senior Cardiac Physiologists to carry out more advanced tests such as treadmill exercise testing and you will be encouraged and supported to attain relevant professional ECG related examinations.

Your role requires excellent communication skills both written and verbal, attention to detail and the ability to adapt and use own initiative to deliver a high quality efficient service to patients in a sensitive environment and experience in this area of service is desirable but not essential as training can be supported.

Your role will ensure effective safe use of equipment, monitor and maintain stock levels and be aware of the ordering process and assisting with the checking of departmental defibrillators and the stocking / restocking of consumables, on the resuscitation trolley after appropriate training.

You will need to be able to input accurate and up to date clinical information onto Cardiology Patient Information database and be able to supervise students and trainees rotating through area of clinical practice
