Applicants must be HCPC registered and hold and IBMS accredited BSc degree or equivalent with at least five years post
- registration experience in a UKAS accredited clinical histopathology laboratory. You will also be required to have an IBMS Specialist Portfolio.

This is a specialised role and will involve taking direct responsibility for all the results produced and work performed including quality control and assurance, training of Biomedical Scientists and other laboratory staff and direct technical supervision of unqualified staff.

The post holder is able to act independently and perform unsupervised, specialised procedures to diagnose and monitor disease. The post holder will be involved with direct handling of potentially high risk uncontained body tissues and fluids from patients. Experience in specimen dissection would be advantageous.
