**About The Role**:
Assist the Driver Training Manager to deliver industry leading driver training across all divisions within the Svella investment portfolio.

**Responsibilities**:

- Carrying out post-employment driving assessments / training to set expectations with respect to driving behaviours and vehicle husbandry therefore ensuring high standards across all business units / contracts.
- Delivering the driver induction programme, installing new and current employees as brand ambassadors.
- Ensuring all drivers carry out thorough pre-use checks as a minimum.
- Monitoring of loading and load security of all vehicles.
- Carrying out initial / refresher training for high-risk functions such as towing and slow speed manoeuvring.
- Post accident/incident/RTA remedial action and training.
- Management of driver training records, liaising with Driver Training Manager to develop and deliver key compliance strategies.
- Identifying high-risk drivers within the business and mentoring where necessary.
- Monitoring and acting on telematics data, identifying trends regarding poor driving standards and including illegal activities such as smoking in vehicles and the use of hand-held electronic devices.
- Carrying out toolbox talks with drivers regarding relevant risks that have been highlighted.
- Assist with plant handover and familiarization training.
- Carrying out refresher training relating to tachograph infringements within the vocational driver cohort.
- Sampling of HGV compliance standards by means of mock DVSA checks in the live operational environment.
- Support Driver Training Manager with fulfilment of O licence obligations, transport related projects and other ad hoc duties as directed.

Essential:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a driver training role.
- Teaching / training qualification.
- Working knowledge of EU/domestic drivers’ hours rules and WTD regulations.
- IT literate with experience using vehicle tracking, tachograph analysis and licence checking software.
- Experience of carrying out driving assessments.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a proactive approach.
- Experience of working with plant.
- HGV licence, valid DCPC card and Digicard.

Desirable:

- National CPC holder.
- IOSH qualified.
- Confident investigator.
