An exciting early career opportunity has arisen within SLR for someone who seeks to work within the environmental sector, joining our Hydrology and Hydrogeology team in Scotland as a Field Hydrologist.- In field training of tasks will be provided as will necessary vehicles, equipment and protective clothing.
- This role is aimed at early career professionals with training and involvement in wider hydrological tasks within the team developing over time.**The role**

Your primary duties will include:

- Project fieldwork, including surface and ground water sampling, equipment set up and maintenance, etc.
- Sample logistics including labelling and record keeping, dispatch of samples, and liaison with the laboratory
- Project administration, including management of water quality / quantity data, document registers and drawings
- Assistance in report writing for routine monitoring reports
- Liaison with clients, landowners, regulatory authorities, and sub-contractors
- Laboratory data analysis and reporting

Please note that lone working is required for several projects, and you may be required to work away from home for several days at a time on remote sites.**About us**

Most importantly you will have a Passion for environmental science and working outdoors, conducting physical tasks.
- You will also have:

- HNC or above qualification in a related environmental discipline (e.g., Geography, Chemistry, Environmental Science, etc.)
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work alone and hold good problem-solving skills
- Good record keeping and competency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Great health and safety understanding / awareness
- ** A full UK driving licence is essential due to the nature of the role.**
- Knowledge of water chemistry and environmental / drinking water standards
- Knowledge of environmental regulatory bodies and legislation
- Experience of operating water quality and flow instrumentation
- Experience of driving in rural settings using 4x4s and small vans
- Experience of lone working in remote locations
