Purpose of the job:
The Community Co-Ordinator role is central to the delivery and development of Luv2meetU in a specific geographical area.

Luv2meetU is a friendship agency for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities and/or autism. Luv2meetU aims to provide support to people with learning disabilities/autism to widen their circle of friends and develop friendships and relationships helping to combat isolation and loneliness and improve overall health and well-being. A full UK drivers license is desirable for this role.

The role

To be responsible for the day-to-day operation and development of Luv2meetU. To work within Luv2meetU’s Aims and Objectives, Values and Policy standards to ensure that each member has the chance to fully develop their social networks, be enabled to meet new friends and develop relationships if they choose and for them to access their local community through a range of leisure and educational events/ opportunities

Support the journey of Luv2meetU members to achieve their aspirations and outcomes in life. These may vary according to the needs of the area and the members within it. The post will also require working closely with Hft day services where appropriate

The post holder will be provided with an outline of responsibilities by the Assistant Manager/ Project Development Manager but will also take on duties on their own initiative, in line with the needs and wishes of Luv2meetU members

About you

Experience of working with vulnerable people including adults with learning disabilities and/or autism with an understanding of the needs, experiences and aspirations of people with learning disabilities would be advantageous.
