**Budwood is recruiting for an Education and Life Skills Worker to work across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorchester (Dorset) with some opportunity to work from home.**

The role of the Budwood Education and Life Skills Worker is to work directly with young people, progressing their support plans in relation to their personal development goals, with the main emphasis on Education Employment and Training and Life Skills, encouraging engagement in pro-social activities, education, employment, training, enhancing independent skills using the ASDAN short course programme and the Budwood Independence Skills Builder.

Many of the young people we support are not in education, employment or training, the successful applicant will be a positive role model, and build relationships with young people to help them achieve their potential. You will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team of House Parents, House Manager, Clinical Psychologist and Head of Education. In addition, you will work with their local authority virtual school and social worker in relation to their education.

You will undertake direct work, and be creative in your approach. You will also attend Education meetings alongside other Budwood staff and the young people. You will advocate for the young people and ensure that their voice is heard with regards to their education. You will have a case load of young people who you will see regularly. This is a newly developed role within Budwood, to ensure Budwood as a service improves outcomes for young people. We are looking for experienced, energetic, and enthusiastic workers who are driven to succeed. This role is suited to social work assistants, youth workers, teaching assistants and those that have experience in direct work with young people.

The role is full-time and permanent, working Monday to Friday (Term-time hours to be considered).

**The Education and Life Skills Worker requirements**:

- Must be over 22 years old.
- Experience of working with children and young people in an education setting
- Have a minimum of 5 GCSE's Grades A-C including English and Maths or equivalent.
- Experience of delivering direct work with young people.
- To have a passion and commitment towards working with young people.
- A Driving Licence is essential and have access to a car.

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
