We are currently seeking like-minded individuals to contribute to Gavia’s growing portfolio of Renewable Energy and Linear Infrastructure Projects. As such we would like to employ a Senior Environmental Advisor / Environmental Cleark of Works to help further expand our Clerk of Works Team within Scotland.

We are looking for motivated individuals who can demonstrate a proven track record in providing environmental legislative advice and ecological mitigation to the construction sector. In order to complete this role you would need to have strong communication and client management skills which would allow you to readily integrate with the client and contractor delivery teams.

**Location**

Our Clerk of Works team is based in our **Perth** Office, the position will involve working across Scotland with extended periods of time away from home working for our clients as a member of their site delivery teams.

**Essential Knowledge/ Experience/ Skills**
- Two to five years’ experience of ECoW / EA based site roles on a variety of different projects.
- A comprehensive understanding of SEPA CAR Regulations, relevant guidance and environmental legislation applicable to the role of Environmental Advisor;
- Competent in a variety of ecological survey techniques and mitigation design for protected species
- Knowledge and practical experience of peat and surface water management on construction sites;
- Full and valid driving licence;
- Appropriate professional membership;
- Holder of a CSCS card; and
- Species licensing would be advantageous

**Role Responsibilities**
- The co-ordination and management of the site, from the input and production of the construction phase documents for example, Work Package Plans/RAMS, Ecological and Landscape Management Plan and Site-Specific Management Plans. Ecological method statements/risk assessments and protected species mitigation strategies;
- Input into and production of construction phase documents and overseeing, in conjunction with the client, the delivery of all measures detailed in the Site-Specific Environmental Management Plans and supporting method statements;
- Site checks for protected and notable species;
- Investigating and reporting on ecological incidents;
- Monitoring and advising on, pollution prevention measures
- Completion and on occasion reviewing of, ECoW logs and reporting;
- Production and delivery of toolbox talks to the site team and sub-contractors;
- Liaising with stakeholders, statutory bodies other organisations as and when required;
- Mentoring and training of junior members of the team;
- Assist the team lead and ecology director in the scoping, tendering and management of projects;
- Have an excellent understanding of health and safety, and biosecurity matters.

**Salary & Benefits**

For a small SME, Gavia is still able to offer an attractive salary in the range of **£40,000 - £50,000[1]** per annum (based on 40 hours per week) along with other core benefits, including profit share scheme, 25 days of holiday, Scottish Bank Holidays regardless of location (1 extra to UK Bank Holidays), private medical insurance, company pension scheme, paid annual professional membership renewal, IT discounts, provision of all Site PPE, as well as, waterproof, windproof and thermal tactical outdoor clothing and boots.

**Additional Information**
