Horticulture Apprentice

_**Please note, this role is scheduled to commence on Monday 27th February 2023**_

**Your Role**

You will undertake practical work experience in the Council’s Parks department and undertake a structured learning and development programme undertake practical operational activities in the development and maintenance of the Councils open spaces. This includes undertaking such operations as grass cutting, shrub and tree planting, shrub pruning, play area maintenance, hedge cutting, seasonal bedding, soft and hard landscaping.

**About you**
- Have a minimum of 4 GCSE grades D/E or 2/3 including both Maths and English. Functional Skills Level 1 will be accepted as an alternative to GCSEs.
- Are passionate about working outdoors.
- Are looking to undertake a new qualification and skills

Please note that any delays in pre-employment checks may delay your commencement date beyond 28 February, this will mean your employment start date will be amended and postponed to 1 April and you will be employed directly into one of the two new authorities.
