- We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.**Overview of role**You will need to be flexible in taking on different tasks every day and not be phased by last minute changes and tight deadlines. You will take ownership for crafting submissions to selection questionnaires and tenders. They will ensure solutions are communicated in a compelling and consistent voice and will be accountable for articulating quality submissions so they reflect a knowledge of the client drivers, objectives and needs.Your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely and flexibly with the bid manager to develop and/or advise on the production of tailored solutions in reply to tender invitations
- Analyse each bid to identify and share good practice across the business
- Knowledge of our processes, and assisting bid team to follow them
- Working with our technical experts to translate technical language into clear, concise and compelling submissions
- Developing CVs
- Providing input to kick off sessions where win themes and bid strategies are developed
- Leading storyboarding sessions
- Proof-reading and formatting
- Contributing to lessons learned sessions and assisting with the capture of feedback post bid
- Maintaining our ‘Win Site’ library.Essential:
- An experienced bid writer within a rail sector, with experience in bid creation and their translation through excellent written English into winning proposals
- Demonstrable record of success in formulating and delivering winning bids
- Confidence to work with senior specialists and a large bid team
- Highest level of attention to detail
- Exemplar writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to participate in crucial meetings as well as providing appropriate challenge
- Flexible attitude to undertake a wide range of tasks
- Ability to function effectively in a small team with personal tasks and collective goals
- Good level of IT literacy
- Experience of bid writing and management and response processes such as Shipley/APMP

Preferable (not essential):
- Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline
- Knowledge of InDesign is desirable
