37.5 hours per week permanent contract

Acute and Urgent Care Directorate, Harplands Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Assistant Psychologist to work in our Acute and Urgent Care Directorate (A&UC). This is a permanent post based at our purpose-built Crisis Care Centre (CCC) at Harplands Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent. The post will involve working across our All Age Access Team (AAAT) and Home Treatment Team (HTT).

The AAAT provides a single point of contact for individuals of all ages experiencing mental health crises. The HTT provides intensive support, assessment and treatment for adults with severe and sudden mental health needs as an alternative to hospital admission.

The role will include working under the supervision of the Principal Clinical Psychologist to support the wider multidisciplinary teams by contributing to assessments, supporting individual and group psychological interventions, working with individual clients to promote engagement in services, attending relevant meetings, undertaking literature reviews, and contributing to research and service improvement initiatives.

The Trust has the advantage of being relatively small, where good working relationships are fostered and valued. The current vacancy is based in Stoke-on-Trent, which is easily commutable from all parts of Staffordshire, Cheshire and Manchester areas, and has extremely good road links to and from the city.
