30 to 35 hours per week. Usual hours of work would be Monday to Friday 12pm to 6.30pm or 7.30pm with half hour break, but different start and finish times may sometimes be required and mutually agreed. 5.6 weeks per year pro rata paid annual leave. Start date: as soon as you are able, after working any notice period you are required to work for your current job.

You may occasionally be asked to work at the weekend with prior notice and with other days off instead.

No previous experience in care work is required.

This job is one to one, you will only have one client who you will be working for. You will be looking after a youngish intelligent adult woman with varied interests, including the arts, scifi/fantasy, literature, music, animals, theatre and psychology amongst other things.

Care is being taken about Covid-19 ensuring that safety protocols are in place, that staff and the client are regularly Covid-19 tested. The client has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. You will be asked to wear a face mask at work (they will be provided).

Casual dress. On site parking. Pension scheme available (optional).

**Job role**:
Supporting an adult woman who has a physical disability to live independently.

Cooking vegetarian food.

Taking the client out to appointments and events.

Household tasks, eg cleaning, tidying, filing, organising, admin, laundry.

Shopping.

Looking after household pets.

Ensuring the client takes their medication.

Organising the client's diary, making sure day to day tasks and events are planned and remembered.

Keeping the home secure.

Massage for pain relief (training can be provided).

Driving.

You may dress in casual comfortable clothes for work. You will be required to keep your nails short and not to wear false nails at work for hygiene reasons.

Wages: £11.50 per hour + mileage payment of 45p per mile.

**Essential requirements**:
Applicant must be:
A car owner and driver with a car boot large enough to contain a folding wheelchair.

LGBTQ+ friendly.

Applicants should be friendly, caring, calm, patient and easy going at work. The person you will be caring for specifically wants someone who is easy to get along with and who doesn't mind following specific instructions, who's adaptable, flexible and good at paying attention details.

Must be organised at work. This is essential.

Physically able to push a person in a manual wheelchair outdoors sometimes and do household cleaning jobs, carrying shopping, assisting with mobility etc.

Comfortable with assisting with light personal care duties eg hair washing, dressing and undressing. No intimate care needs.

Willing to assist the client to go away on holiday occasionally paid of course (travel and accommodation also paid for by the employer).

Successful applicant will be required to get business insurance on your car insurance before starting work so that you can drive for work purposes.

An enhanced DBS (criminal records check) will be paid for by the employer.
