The company head office on Maude Street in Kendal provides support to the wider business accommodating senior management, finance, marketing, human resources, and property teams.
**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Carry out internal and external painting and decorating to our portfolio of residential and commercial properties.
- Undertake all preparation works, including minor repairs to surfaces and structures, to make good for decoration.
- Mix and match paint colours as required.
- Ensure proper protection of furniture, fittings floors and other surfaces.
- Ensure all painting and decorating equipment is best utilised and kept clean and reused where practical to avoid any unnecessary wastage. Monitor and order stock
- Carry out any ad-hoc maintenance requests, and assisting with fire alarm testing to various properties
- Use all tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works and to maintain a safe working environment.
- Erect all necessary access plant and temporary screening as and when required to protect the environment and people, all in accordance with current Health & Safety guidance.
- Maintain painting equipment and tools in good working condition, and monitor stock.
- Attend departmental meetings and training sessions
- Collaborate with management and other team members to understand project requirements and deliver the desired results
**Qualifications, Skills & Attributes**:
- NVQ/City & Guilds level 2 qualification in painting and decorating
- A valid driver's license is an essential requirement of the role
- Proven experience as a Painter and Decorator, with a solid portfolio of completed projects
- Excellent knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work
- Conversant with relevant H&S legislation and compliance issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A can do approach and positive attitude
