**JOB DESCRIPTION**

An elderly gentleman who is moving to Poynder apartments in Kelso on 13 September 2023

is looking for a companion to visit him on a Tuesday and Wednesday morning for 2 hours

each day. The gentleman enjoys chatting and enjoys games and walking. There may be

other hours for holiday cover.

**JOB ROLE**
- The main purpose of the job is to provide companionship to the gentleman while his

partner is out. He enjoys walks, playing cards, jigsaws and going on local trips on the

bus.
- Assist the gentleman to remain safe in and around the home while his partner is out.
- In addition to your main duties you may occasionally be asked to undertake work

outwith your job description. No unreasonable requests will be made.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
- Cheerful/positive individual with a caring nature
- Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise
- You must be honest, trustworthy and reliable
- You must be a good communicator with client
- Adhere to confidentiality at all times
- Respectful of client and their home

**Rate of Pay**
- £11.50 per hour
- Annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
