We are a leading Academy looking for a talented and motivated Head of Expressive Arts Music to join our team. As the Head of Expressive Arts Music, you will be responsible for leading the Music department, driving its vision and strategy, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality music education to our students.

This is a permanent role starting in September 2023, offering an MPS/UPS TLR 1a salary range of £28,000 to £52,391. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of educators and contribute to the development of a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities of the role:

- Leading and managing the Music department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality music education across all key stages
- Developing and implementing an innovative and engaging Music curriculum that meets the needs of all learners
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of teaching and learning in the Music department, and taking action to address any issues identified
- Leading the planning and delivery of extra-curricular Music activities, including concerts, performances, and competitions
- Developing and maintaining strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external organisations to enhance the Music provision at our Academy
- Contributing to the wider life of the Academy through participation in staff meetings, training events, and other activities.

Key requirements of the role:

- Experience of leading and managing a Music department or team, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality music education
- Excellent knowledge of Music curriculum and assessment frameworks, with the ability to design and deliver innovative and engaging lessons
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of educators
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and external partners
- A commitment to delivering an inclusive and diverse Music provision that meets the needs of all learners.
