**Job Description**:
Gas and Liquid Fuels Operations is a front office support team that provides operational controls under strict deadlines to contribute towards EDF Trading’s commercial success

Gas and Liquid Fuels Operations is responsible for operating the gas supply, demand and trade activities of EDFT and other subsidiaries. This involves ensuring that nominations (requests for gas delivery), scheduling, capacity and transportation requests are actioned on a daily basis across the UK and Continent within capacity limitations, with the prime objective of minimising financial penalties imposed under the relevant system operating regime and maximising any opportunities and a 24-hour shift team is in place to facilitate this.

The department is further responsible for executing all operational and shipping tasks associated with delivery and ongoing processing of LNG/LPG/ Biofuels cargoes. These tasks include operational notifications to suppliers, communication with LNG/LPG/ Biofuels terminal and storage operators, agents and natural gas pipelines, handling certificates as well as capturing all of this information in internal systems in a timely and accurate manner.

Position purpose

Reporting to the Head of Gas and Liquid Fuels Operations, this is a first level management role co-ordinating the teamwork-flow and supporting our 24/7-Operators to manage the physical logistics of EDF Trading’s Gas and LNG portfolio, also providing other group entities with optimisation and information provision.

The role will be a very central role, communicating with the different trading and Origination desks on current and new products and Business opportunities, as well as liaising with Regulatory Affairs, Legal, and other departments regarding issues or opportunities.

Main responsibilities

As well as being fully competent in Operator shift tasks, the Supervisor will have the following responsibilities:

- First point of escalation for Operational issues. Ensure issues are logged in a timely manner with procedural resolutions communicated to the team respecting EDFT’s BTP.
- Performance management of Gas Operators; including objective setting, regular 1 to 1s, technical coaching and mid/final year end performance reviews with Head of Desk input
- Ensure the 24/7 Operator rotation is fully staffed and coverage readily available
- Provide on-call support and remote log-in to 24/7 Operations when necessary
- Being able to define and clearly communicate the Operations
- and key controls around new Originated business respecting EDFT’s Ops Sign Off process
- Ensure training of 24/7 staff on new operational procedures and systems
- Main Relationship point of contact for EDF Group and JERA related Operations
- Being the main contact for the different Grid and Storage Operators, maintaining excellent working relationships with them
- Responsible for coverage of LNG operations in cooperation with Trading desks
