**Core Purpose**

You will report to the Distillery Operations Leader, the Distillery Operator will contribute to the development and success of the business by driving continuous improvement achieving the lowest cost and highest quality through operational effectiveness and Health and Safety.

You will provide cover for a continuous process as a member of a self-directed work team with mínimal supervision. You need to be flexible, in terms of time, participation in activities out-with the normal scope of the job, participation in Health and Safety compliance, projects and work throughout the entire facility in the interests of the company.

The role will initially be on a day shift basis with the intention to develop into a shift operator role.

**Work Content**
- Manage the safe operation of a continuous manufacturing process via the control room (SCADA system) and field works. Duties include, (but not limited to) plant checks, routine sampling and control, raw material receiving, inventory management and charging as well as analytical testing
- Maintain the process within set control parameters to ensure quality, safety and compliance at all times
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance procedures for the plant and first line breakdown maintenance
- Maintain permit to work system as defined to maintain safe working environment at all times
- Contribute to SOP and job safety risk assessments
- Successfully complete all necessary training (role competency, SHE and regulatory)
- Contribute to equipment failure root cause analysis to design out issues and improve plant performance
- Complete all administrative and data collection tasks as required

**Experience**
- Essential_
- Prior working knowledge of Safe Systems of Work (Permits, LOTO, SOP/WI)
- Previous operational experience
- Desirable_
- Worker Permit Issuer experience
- Working as a process operative in a Distillery/chemical processing environment or within a COMAH or high-risk environment
- Spirit Distilling experience
- Steam Boiler Operations
- Confined Space Entry
- Forklift Driver
- Basic electrical and mechanical skills

**Education**
- Essential_
- Good basic secondary education incorporating a Maths and Science discipline
- Desirable_
- Brewing and /or distilling qualification
- HNC/HND or Craft Apprenticeship
