Your key responsibilities will include:

- Building positive customer and team relationships, upholding Breedon's reputation
- Adhering to EU Drivers' hours, Working Time Legislation and The Road Traffic Act, and other relevant legislations
- Following instructions from the distribution office and management
- Securing vehicles and company property
- Keeping accurate records
- Prioritising safety for people, equipment, and vehicles, adhering to health and safety policies
- Complying with company policies and procedures, including telematics systems
- Performing additional reasonable duties as required

Key Job Elements:

- Collaborating with the area Transport Manager, efficiently operating vehicles and equipment, ensuring legal compliance and optimal customer service
- Liaising with teams, suggesting improvements for operations and service
- Utilising equipment correctly and reporting any defects
- Completing documentation accurately and adhering to legal driving regulations
- Operating plant and machinery safely (training provided for apprentices)
- Maintaining full drivers CPC qualification (to be obtained during apprenticeship)
- Conducting vehicle maintenance, reporting faults, and following accident / incident reporting procedures
- Possessing or working towards an LGV Class C driving licence and relevant plant / equipment licences

**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**

This 12-15-month LGV driver programme not only includes your theory test, practical driver training and your ‘C’ Class driving test but will give you a comprehensive knowledge of the industry. The whole programme is a blend of practical driving, interesting workshops covering the logistics industry, health and safety, journey planning and customer service, as well as learning all about maintenance checks on your vehicle.

You will be supported on your journey by experience drivers and transport managers, as well as specialist tutors from our training provider - Seetec.

**What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?**

Completing this apprenticeship will provide a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry. With Breedon's extensive network of over 350 sites in the UK, successful apprentices will have ample opportunities for career advancement. These include roles in transport, distribution, concrete, or quarrying. Additionally, there will be prospects for further specialisation, enhanced responsibilities, and additional training to advance their professional development within the company.
