We have an incredibly exciting and varied opportunity to join our teams in Sheffield and Rotherham
- Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia Adviser role requires you to work passionately to provide advice, support and guidance to people affected by dementia._

This is a unique opportunity to work across our teams in **Rotherham** and **Sheffield**. Our teams support individuals in a varied and person-centred manner, some days you will be giving emergency interventions to individuals who are in crisis, contacting key stake holder and medical teams to fast-track support to people who need it the most. Another day you might be empowering people living with dementia identify activities or social events they might want to participate in, attending these events for introductions and to familiarise them with these activities. Other days you will be attending and facilitating meetings with local individuals with influence and impact on the local community to make connection with people affected by dementia, giving individuals and opportunity to voice their needs and concerns to individuals who have influence and impact on the services on offer to people affected by dementia.

You will be
- Offering a vital and compassionate service providing information, signposting and emotional and practical support to people affected by dementia.
- Managing referrals and case loads.
- Writing and recording comprehensive notes regarding peoples on our service user record system.
- Supporting our Dementia events.
- Establishing good working relationships with external organisations.
- Facilitating information and awareness raising events, delivering talks and presentations to public audiences.

We need
- Working experience of assessing people face to face with an ability to assess their needs.
- Delivery of advice and guidance with a non-judgmental approach and able to communicate with a wide variety of people.
- Organisational skills and ability to manage your caseload of clients effectively.
- It is essential that you are able to travel independently across Sheffield and Rotherham.
- An understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers would be an advantage.
- Confidence in public speaking and ability to deliver presentations.
