Are you an experienced CMM Inspector, who would like to work in a modern, clean, warm factory, offering excellent working conditions and career prospects?

Our client is a large, growing independent precision engineering company, making components for the nuclear, defence and renewables industries with machining capabilities from 3mm diameter to 50 tonne components, and an additional permanent CMM Operator / Programmer.
- Excellent rate of pay of up £22 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance), potential with overtime to earn in excess of £50,000 per year
- 2 weeks days, followed by 2 weeks of night shift (night shift premium is 30%) - Permanent nights or days could be an option.
- 37 hour working week (30 minute unpaid lunch break)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays

Hours of work:

- Monday & Thursday: 7.30 - 3.30pm
- Tuesday & Wednesday: 7.30 - 4pm
- Friday: 7.30 - 1.30pm
- Nights: 9.45pm - 7.30am (Monday - Thursday)

Reporting directly to the CMM & Metrology Lead, co-ordinate company CMM inspection activities to ensure the required work throughput is achieved in order to meet customer deadlines. Additionally, that the required quality standards are achieved, maintained and improved where possible.
- To read, interpret and understand 2D drawings from a range of customers and industries.
- Determining the programming requirements based on the drawing and engineering requirements, with specific focus on understanding Geometrics, Dimensions and Tolerances(G,D &T).
- Assist in identifying and utilising the most effective and efficient method of checking components.
- Assure accurate component measurement via, correct CMM operation, programming, calibration and cleanliness.
- Perform 100% Inspection of components.
- Identification of non-conforming items via the company's NCR system and maintenance of inspection status.

Ensure;
- Documentation is accurate and maintained to a high standard.
- Quality system procedures are being adhered to and are operating effectively.
- 5S principles are applied to QC department and standards are sustained to audit requirements.
- That you work in a safe manner and comply with the company’s Health & Safety Policy.

**Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications**
- Formal apprenticeship or equivalent training in Engineering.
- Experience with operation and programming of co-ordinate measuring machines.
- Working in a machine shop or similar engineering environment - minimum of 5 years.

**Skills & Competencies**
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, quality plans and specifications.
- Skilled in the use of inspection and test equipment and be capable of being trained to use all equipment owned by the company.
- Shall have a good understanding of the company's products (or be capable of further training).
- Able to communicate clearly, make logical and rapid decisions.
- Must be computer literate.
- Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently, work independently and problem solve.
